Engineered for impact. Designed for simplicity. Built for change.
MELTR’s proprietary recycling technology is a breakthrough in how we process plastic waste.
Developed in Australia and protected by patents pending across multiple regions including the US, Europe, India, and Indonesia, this system is compact, modular, and portable, making it ideal for deployment in diverse environments from agricultural sites to waste transfer stations.
What Makes MELTR different?
Conventional recycling plants are expensive to build and operate, often costing millions in capital and requiring complex infrastructure. MELTR units, by contrast, operate at a fraction of the cost – both in capital expenditure and per-kilo processing. MELTR offers a financially viable alternative for councils, businesses, and industries seeking to manage plastic waste locally.
The system is fully electric, meaning it can be powered by solar or mobile generators, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and enabling off-grid operation. At its core is an induction-based melting process, which uses electromagnetic energy rather than friction. This results in extremely low energy draw, minimal polymer degradation, and no moving parts in the melting stage – dramatically reducing wear, maintenance, and downtime.
“The technology verification confirmed that the system effectively processes mixed and contaminated plastics with minimal sorting or cleaning, making it a cost-effective solution for sectors like agriculture, packaging, and the built environment. The market analysis highlights significant opportunities for recovering HDPE, PP, PET, and LDPE, which are prevalent in these sectors. Furthermore, the technology’s compliance with regulatory requirements and its scalable business model position Rtec as a competitive player in the plastic recycling industry.”

Simple to operate, powerful performance
MELTR units are designed for ease of use. They can be operated by just two people, with intermittent loading and minimal oversight. In trials, the system has run for extended hours with a single operator, though two are recommended for occupational health and safety.
Unlike traditional systems, MELTR can process contaminated and co-mingled plastics within specification. This eliminates the need for expensive sorting and cleaning infrastructure, which are major barriers to recycling adoption. The system produces no by-products, and the output is immediately usable, either for extrusion into new products or as feedstock for pyrolysis systems, with the added benefit of a pre-heated material stream that improves downstream efficiency.

A smarter, cleaner future
Traditional recycling often involves shredding, which can generate microplastics that escape into the environment through wastewater and sludge. Studies have shown that recycling centres may be major point sources of microplastic pollution 1. MELTR avoids this entirely. By skipping shredding and using a clean melt process, it prevents the creation of secondary pollutants while delivering high-quality recycled material.
This is not just a new machine. It’s a new way of thinking about plastic. MELTR empowers communities and industries to take control of their waste, reduce environmental impact, and unlock the value hidden in discarded materials.
